Dr. Marisa Ames

DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (cardiology) and the Jane Lewis-Seaks Post-doctoral Research Scholar at North Carolina State University, Marisa is a 2007 graduate of the Ohio State University. She recently completed her cardiology residency at North Carolina State University.Her research interests include neurohormonal activation in heart failure – specifically thepharmacologic blockade of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), the effects various drugs on RAAS, aldosterone breakthrough, and new applications for pimobendan inrefractory heart failure.
